We love selling homes in Mission Beach. It is a privilege and an honour to be a part of the process. We get great satisfaction from making our living helping people move on to the next phase of their life, whether it is upsizing, downsizing, or simply relocating to a new neighbourhood.

But there is one sort of home seller we cannot really help: The seller who is not really ready to sell their property.

If you are thinking about selling your Mission Beach home, do not enter into the process lightly. It is a big deal. There is some stress and there is a great opportunity for joy. There is a big investment at stake. This, along with a lot of other reasons large and small, is why you want to be 100% sure you are ready to sell your home. If you think you are ready to sell your property, but it turns out you are not, you waste a lot of time and energy (and sometimes money).

So how do you know if you are really ready to sell your home in Mission Beach?

  1. You are fine with the process. You must have no problem with the idea of a stranger poking around your house, talking about renovating it, or treating your property like a used car. If you have lived in your house a long time, it is natural to have emotional attachments to real estate. So, if the process of selling the house makes you feel protective or defensive, you may not be ready.
  2. You are flexible on the right price. Motivated sellers understand selling a home involves negotiation and competitive real estate market pricing. If you have a dollar amount “you must get” in order to sell, then you might want to think again. Especially if the Mission Beach agents who price your home advise you it is a high ask and could take a long time to sell. It may be best to take a breather and ask yourself if it is go time or not. You do not want to have your home on the market with no property inspections.
  3. You know where you are going next. Prepared real estate sellers in Mission Beach have plans, even if those plans are not 100% firm. They are anticipating the move and they are probably even shopping for property, if only casually at the moment. If you cannot clearly answer the question, “Where would you like to live after you sell?” then you are not quite there yet.

If you are iffy on any of these, take a step back and consider how you feel. While the Mission Beach property market can be slow, a home will sell in any market for the right price. Do not jump into something before you are ready.

However, when you are ready, we would be happy to help. Give us a call when the time is right, we would be delighted to help you sell your Mission Beach home.

I found Grahame very helpful during the whole process and would recommend him to anyone wanting a serious and honest operator. He was supportive of my needs, finding a buyer who loved the property as much as I did.
