The History:

The hotel was built by Harry Dear in 1927 and had ten rooms upstairs to accommodate the hard working and drinking cane cutters.

After 89 years the El Arish Tavern is still the main social meeting place for locals and tourists. The original structure still stands with a large dining room added on, and a huge tropical beer garden with the original Bocce court outside.
